Thanks to funding from Tameside Council, we’re installing 25 brand-new RSPB nest boxes, complete with anti-predator plates, ready for spring. Competition for nest sites is a real stress for our feathered friends, so we’re very happy to be handing out some well-earned 5-star accommodation around Jet Amber.
Despite icy weather, ladders, and general “what could possibly go wrong?” energy, we’re delighted to report zero injuries and maximum success for our four hardy volunteers!
We’d like to encourage everyone to take part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch, which runs 23-25 January. If you don’t want to do it at home, you can take part in the Valley – will you hear a woodpecker or kingfisher?
